About our Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network
The Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network was organized in 1996 and Incorporated in 1997 through the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stocks as a not-for-profit association. The volunteer Board of Directors consists of committees including Membership, Education, Events and Fundraising. Monies are raised through membership fees, fundraising activities and donations. The ATTN joins with other Canadian networks to:
- promote the practice and acceptance of Therapeutic Touch®
- insure standardized methods and techniques are used in the practice and instruction as co-developed by Dolores Krieger and Dora Kunz
- provide an Atlantic region representation of Canadian members sharing common guidelines and goals
- to serve as a resource and communications network for practicians and instructors, as well as the general public
- respond to requests by individuals seeking the services of a recognized Therapeutic Touch Practician
- encourage research
The Board of Directors meets monthly and we are proud to be able to effectively "bring in" our Board members from out of town to the meetings via telephone and Zoom linking, hereby making us a true "Atlantic" Network! The Atlantic Therapeutic Touch Network recognizes the modality of Therapeutic Touch as developed by Dr. Dolores Krieger and Dora van Gelder Kunz and encourages its members to learn other modalities. We are grateful to the founders of Therapeutic Touch, Dolores Krieger and Dora van Gelder Kunz for their foresight, intuition and fortitude to bring such a wonderful gift to the world.
